Lonnie M. Randolph (Lonnie Sr.)

Lonnie M. Randolph is a founding partner at Randolph & Randolph, P.C., and is licensed to practice law in Indiana, Illinois, and their federal courts. He received his law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1978. After law school, he clerked at the Leadership Counsel for the Metropolitan Open Communities in Illinois. There, he worked on impact litigation with experienced staff attorneys. Moreover, he assisted the Illinois Attorney General with cases presented before the Illinois State Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. Additionally, Lonnie also served as the first African-American Assistant State’s Attorney in Lake County, Illinois. 

In 1981, Lonnie Sr. opened his own private practice as a general practitioner. Since doing so, he has handled matters involving criminal law, the death penalty, civil litigation, personal injury, contracts, wills, trusts and estates, landlord tenant matters, property law, and more. What is more, he has tried hundreds of cases over several areas of law during his illustrious career. Unquestionably, he has a unique and invaluable experience in practicing law that is second to no one. 

Besides being an outstanding and well-experienced attorney, Lonnie Sr., is also an Indiana State Senator. He represented Indiana’s second district from 1992-1998, and again from 2009 - current. In 1993, the Indiana State Senate selected him as freshman of the year. What is more, that same year, the John Marshall Law School selected him as the alumnus of the year. Additionally, Senator Randolph is the chairman of the State of Indiana’s Legislative Black Caucus.

From the basketball court to the courtroom, Lonnie M. Randolph, II is a star in the practice areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, and civil rights. Lonnie, a former semi-professional basketball player, is a founding partner and the managing partner at Randolph & Randolph, P.C. Moreover, he is licensed to practice law in Indiana, Illinois, and their federal courts. With over a decade of experience, he has become a stalwart advocate for those facing legal challenges. His commitment to protecting the rights of the accused is unwavering. He handles a variety of criminal cases, ranging from felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic cases. Lonnie has an unique chance thirst and passion for defending the accused and protecting their constitutional rights. He is relentless in obtaining not guilty verdicts, favorable plea agreements, and case dismissals. Known for his sharp analytical skills, wit, and strategic approach, he works tirelessly to ensure that every client receives a fair trial, due process, and a vigorous defense. When Lonnie is not fighting for his clients in the courtroom, he regularly speaks to the youth regarding their legal rights and any other relevant matters to those in the community. For example, he speaks with others about their constitutional rights, statutory law, voting rights, interacting with law enforcement, cleaning up their driving record, expunging criminal convictions, and many other legal topics. 

Lonnie is also very active in the following organizations: National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (board of director); National Bar Association; Indiana State Bar Association; Illinois State Bar Association; Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Indiana Trial Lawyers Association; Lake County Bar Association; and is also a member of the greatest fraternity in the world, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. 

What is more, Lonnie received his law degree from Indiana University - Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2013. There, he was president of the Student Bar Association, an Associate Justice of the Moot Court Board, a barrister on the Moot Court Society’s Order of the Barristers, a certified legal intern for the Criminal Defense Clinic, and a fellow with the Indiana Conference for Legal Opportunity (ICLEO).
